Just thought that I would leave a few comments as people have been completely slating this accommodation.

What do people expect from an 18-30's holiday in Zante. I was impressed with the apartments they were nice enough for somewhere you spend very little time. A little dusty on the floor but no big issue. We had warm water all the time and I think that is really good I've never had that anywhere I have stayed before.

As for the owners if I had their job I would be in a bad mood. We lost our deposit but that was fair enough as we lost our keys.

The only thing I will say is that sleep is impossible as there is a 24 hour bar. But that should not be an issue for most people if their going to be out every night.

Where do I begin here. This is a long article, but I believe it is fair'ish. We went September 2004. Ok, to start, we got there with very closed minds having read the bad reviews about the place. When we arrived (at 7.30am) we were asked for our Passports and a 50 Euro Deposit (£35). During our stay we needed our passports back to be able to go on an excursion to Athens, which they were ok with. There was a couple there who worked in the R.A.F. and did ask to keep their passports because of the nature of their job, they could have been called back to the U.K.at any time, but they were refused them. We had been placed in the new apartment block, accross the road from the main hotel. Apparently, this is 4 star style accomodation according to Pete. We were there for two weeks so decided that we would only use the apartments to sleep in if we didn't like it. John and Pete are decent blokes and Kirsty turned out to be ok too. To be honest, if I had to deal with groups of 18-30 people for 6 months of the year, then I guess I would be fairly pissed off too. Anyhow, me and the Mrs. got on with them all fine. Pete was very helpful when it came to our excursions and his advice on what to do what to see kind of stuff. Food prices at the pool bar are a bit crap to say the least. If you want a portion of chips from the pool bar after midnight then that will set you back 4 Euros (£2.80), apparently prices go up after midnight, but there's nothing to say this on the menu. One night, me and the Mrs had a cheeseburger with chips each, a bottle of Fanta and a bottle of Pepsi, this came to 18 Euros (£12.60). We never had a problem getting our deposit back when we checked out. However, there was a guy who lost his deposit because he had trashed the room on the first night there and he had bled over the mattress and sheets. The lad was insistent on having the sheet for himself though. Fair enough I say, you can't expect the next guests to sleep on a bloody mattress. There was another guy who lost some of his deposit because a power socket of some kind was missing from his bathroom and a pillow was very wet apparently. All of these lads were in the same apartment block as us, across the road from the main hotel. We experienced very little noise, which was quite surprising. However, the echo of high heels clunking aginst marble floors in the apartment building got annoying after a while, lol. However, the was a dog nearby the barked at pretty much anything. Still, we had a fantstic time there.

We've just got back from our 1 week holiday on 4/7/06 and staying at Mon Repos was an excellent idea. We had 7 in our party and we were given 2 appartments in B block, 1st floor (ask for appartment no. 10 or 9) as they are the only rooms that have the best pool view and the 3 single-tons had an appartment in block D, which was a 5 min walk down the dark pathway (away from the main site).

In each appartment are 20/25L bottles of water - before you use it, be aware that it costs 8euros (which is a bargain, if you're going to drink all of it). Air con is 40Euros for 2 person appartment and 70Euros for the 4 person appartment (per week). Safety deposit boxes are in each room and they cost 15Euros per week

The location of Mon Repos is spot on. Close enough to get to the nightlife, but far enough away, so it doesn't keep you up at night. Opposite the main entrance is a lovely restaurant called The Akropolis. Very friendly service and excellent menu

Other good places to eat are: Mr Dallas Greek, Georginos, Taj Mahal (180Euros for 7 people = good price from an Indian Meal and excellent food/service). Best place for pizza is Mamis Pizza - freshly made right in fron of you

A good place for breakfast/lunch is......(sorry can't remember the name of it), but it is on laganas main road. Stand at the crossroads with 'Big Boys' fast food outlet on the top left corner (of the crossroads) as though you were walking from Mon Repos and head up (away from the beach), staying on the left hand side. After the supermarket there is a little place with orange signs saying the best place to eat (or something like that).....and it is, for breakfast. The special full breakfast 6Euros - but it's huge and fills you up for the rest of the day

We didn't do any excursions, but we did visit the waterpark under our own steam(!). We took the local bus to the park and it cost us 1 Euro cheaper than the people on the streets selling waterpark trips and 5 Euros cheaper than First Choice

We did also hire a boat (instead of going on an organised turtle island trip) and this worked out 10 Euros per person for 2 hrs. It was great fun and you could stop the boat whenever and jump in and swim with the turtles

The boat was hired from a bloke that looked like the scuba guy from the film "Along Came Polly", he has a hut with two white surf boards as his price lists - on the beach front by Cherry Bay bar/club

Local brew Mythos and Amstel 1.50euros in some bars, but in 'Cocktails n Dreams' - 1 bottle of Amstel and a cocktail = 8Euros....only stayed for 1 drink (shame cos they were playing some great music

And when you're back home :( whenever you hear 'The Proclaimers - I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)'.....it'll remind you of Zante 2006.

It was absolutley fantastic at the Mon Repos. The rooms were really basic but thats all you needed because we tended to get in at 5 or 6 in the morning! Its in the best place, near to the strip and the beach but far enough away that you dont get any noise! The pool and bar were fantastic, the food was great, the chip butties tasted really good! The staff were really friendly and helped out if u needed any. The only down side was the scary olive grove you had to walk through at night because the lights didnt work sometimes! Overall, i loved the place and i'd definatley go again!
